Preserving Lander Street

Sunday October 4, 2026 · 3:00 PM · Newburgh Community Landbank Office

Once emblematic of Newburgh's vacant and abandoned housing crisis, Lander Street has been transformed through thoughtful restoration, infill development, and a shared commitment to affordable homeownership. Join the Newburgh Community Land Bank for a walking tour exploring the history of the block, the strategies behind its revitalization, and the partnerships that helped make its renewal possible.

Along the way, representatives from RUPCO will introduce the Newburgh Targeted Home Improvement Program (T-HIP), which offers grants of up to $40,000 to eligible homeowners in the 12550 zip code for home repairs that help preserve Newburgh's historic housing stock.

Learn how strategic investment, preservation, collaboration, and long-term planning are helping strengthen neighborhoods while protecting the architectural character that makes Newburgh unique.

This event is presented in partnership with the Newburgh Community Land Bank, RUPCO, and The Fullerton.
